U.S. Congressman Pat Tiberi (R-OH) today released the following statement regarding the U.S. House Committee on Veterans Affairs' Legislative Hearing on his bill, H.R. 2051, the Veterans Missing in America Act:
"I am pleased that Ohio Veterans Affairs Director Thomas Moe was able to attend the hearing today and testify about the need for this bill. As Director Moe explained, securing a proper burial in a national cemetery for eligible veterans sometimes faces hurdles if there is no identified next of kin. The bill Congressman Steve Stivers (R-OH) and I introduced would help ensure veterans are given the final respect of a proper burial. Senator Rob Portman (R-OH) just yesterday took up the cause in the U.S. Senate and introduced a companion measure to our bill. I look forward to working with my colleagues to continue to advance this measure."
